Bethany- where do I begin?
From the moment she and Larissa asked if I wanted to sit with them at lunch on my first day at a new school, I instantly knew that she was going to change my life for the better. Out of the goodness in her heart, she had accepted me and all my weirdness in a time when I had no friends and was feeling alone. The three of us spent the majority of the rest of elementary school together, hanging out and playing games. On our Williamsburg field trip, Bethany and I roomed together and had the time of our lives on a trip we thought was so cool since we could stay overnight in a big hotel. On my brother's birthday, she came over to eat cake with the rest of my family. And all those times we'd run through other people's backyards to take a shortcut to each other's houses so we didn't have to have our mom's take us, I will always remember. Every day after school spent with her was an adventure, and she only changed my life for the better. Bethany taught me how to be kind, loving, spontaneous, and adventurous all at the same time, and I have never been so grateful. She was the purest, sweetest, most beautiful friend I ever had and nothing in this world would ever change that, no matter how far apart we grew after elementary school. My favorite memory was the three of us playing mermaid games in the pool together, like nothing else in the world mattered. She will always live on in the way the color of the sky changed at sundown and the lasting sunset on a cool summer evening.
